Naturally nonchalant and epicurean with an all-encompassing passion for great experiences, we're embracing our South-American essence with our ever-so-slightly late' 'Year in Review', with some thoughts and reflections from Tomás, our Managing Director.
'The festive Turkeys have been devoured, the chinking of glasses still chiming throughout 'Betwixmas'; with copious memories made, and with many dreams to be realised in the new year ahead; we wanted to reflect on what 2022 brought for us, and how you, our Fazendeiros, were by our side along the way.
Let me begin with a truly heartfelt thank you to you all. For your support, for your continued love for Fazenda and all that our experience brings, for celebrating our Brazilian roots, and for always helping us to be better, stronger and keeping us grounded. Let's take a look at what the past twelve months encompassed....
Though the final days of 2022 are approaching, the zest and desire for dining out continues with the festive spirit, with our restaurants approaching one of the busiest evenings of the year - New Year's Eve. To date, we've welcomed over 420,000 guests from near and far, serving more than 25,000 bottles of Malbec and over 10,000 Fazenda Especials - our best selling cocktail of the year!
Across the group, we've scooped a number prestigious awards, and were shortlisted for many more; reminding us that since the beginning of our journey in 2010, we're still evolving; still growing and most of all: continuing to make our guests feel special. From winning Leading Restaurant of the Year at the This Is Manchester awards, to having both our Liverpool and Birmingham restaurants in the line-up for Tourism Restaurant of the Year (winners yet to be revealed in 2023), we're wrapping up the year with a sentiment of an appreciative nature, seasoned with a sense of pride.
Now, reflection is not only for looking back at achievements of your own, but rather how you helped others around you grow and flourish. Community is an integral part of our DNA at Fazenda - it's in our South American blood. Our support to both local and national charities wouldn't be possible without you, so thank you for helping us raise over £50,000 for extremely important causes, such as Simon on the Streets, The Hive, Woodstreet Mission, Cyrenians and St.Basils - not forgetting Action Against Hunger and Hospitality Action.
This year, we made a small yet crucial step towards our goal to offset our carbon emissions by 2030. Since we launched our Gift Tree campaign in November, you've helped us plant over 15,000 trees in our Fazenda forest!
Whilst it's easy to look back and recall the highs, we know that this year has brought challenging times, too, for many. We hope that in some small way, we've been able to help along the way, in the best way we know how - delicious food, exquisite wine and a warm South American welcome.
The word gratitude comes to mind when we look back at this past year, and I personally want to thank you, our guests, and our incredible team for making all of this possible.
2023 - we're ready. London, we can't wait.
Wishing many happy returns to you and your loved ones. Or as they say back home in Argentina, ¡Feliz Año Nuevo para todos!'
