Brazilian Brigadeiros

A recipe like this one should come with a warning, Fazendeiros.

These small chocolate bonbons are a Brazilian sweet classic among 'docinhos' - sweet treats - and they are so easy to make they might become one for you too.

The name Brigadeiros was given after a famous airforce commander, Brigadeiro Eduardo Gomes, and in Rio Grande do Sul they are called 'Negrinhos'.

To make brigadeiros you will need:

Ingredients

1 tin of condensed milk

2 heaped tablespoons of cocoa powder

1 tablespoon of butter

Mix all ingredients in a pan at low heat.

Stir constantly until you can see the bottom of the pan, then cook for 2 more minutes.

Pour mix into a container and let it cool.

Once cool, butter your hands and form small balls with the mix.

Roll the brigadeiros on dried coconut, chocolate powder, sprinkles, etc.

Depending on the size you make them, the recipe will make between 20 and 40 brigadeiros.

Let us know what you think of these if you try them!
