Meet Jordana - Our New Relationships & Events Manager at Fazenda Manchester

This week we sat down over a coffee with Jordana, our new Relationships & Events Manager at Fazenda Manchester. We asked her a few questions so you could get to know her better.

1 - Tell us your Fazenda Story

I joined Fazenda in November 2022, so my Fazenda journey has only just begun...

The past few months have been full of energy. I've had the opportunity to visit all our stunning restaurants (Leeds, Edinburgh, Liverpool and Birmingham; I'll soon be adding Bishopsgate to this list!) and get to know all of our awesome teams.

My previous roles have always gravitated towards people, marketing and events, in different industries from fashion to private aviation. My role in the client relations team came to a halt during the pandemic as I could no longer travel to meet my clients, so from there I moved into a marketing focused role based in Manchester. I'm passionate about marketing but I missed the daily human interaction and hospitality side of my role, that's what brought me to Fazenda and I'm incredibly excited for the year ahead.

2- One thing you would never change about the REM role

Meeting people! I will always remember discovering the word 'Sonder' which means: the realisation that each person is living a life as vivid and complex as your own, filled with their own ambitions, thoughts, routines and worries. I love meeting new people and discovering their story and I especially love creating memorable events and experiences that leave a special impact - It's incredibly rewarding.

3- Your go-to activity when you need to decompress/ress

My idyllic day of rejuvenating would probably start with a long walk, followed by an afternoon cooking to one of my favourite playlists playing in the background, a glass of wine then sharing my feast with friends. I love food and find cooking incredibly therapeutic (except fresh pasta, I probably won't attempt to make that ever again).

If I'm too exhausted to cook, ordering a take-out and watching movies is equally idyllic. It's the simple things in life sometimes, isn't it!

4- A movie you can re-watch forever

This is a tough one - I'm a huge lover of cinema! I took a cinematography course when I was younger and studied a French art film movement that emerged in the 50s - 'French New Wave'. This opened my mind to a whole new world of cinema and made me watch things in a completely different way. So my 'forever movie' would have to be Jean-Luc Godard's, 'A bout de souffle' for making me fall in love with cinema.

5- Favourite place in the world to visit and why

I've been a Wanderlust since I was a little girl; I constantly had this fascination with the world and I've been extremely blessed to have had the opportunity to explore so many parts of it in previous roles.
I've taken something from each place I've visited, and they've all inspired me in different ways. I took a solo trip to Japan a few years ago, which was one of the most magical experiences, but If I had to choose one special place, it would have to be my favourite little island - Ibiza.
I lived there for a while, so it's filled with amazing memories... and some of the most beautiful beaches I have ever visited.

6- Favourite Fazenda Meat, Wine and Dessert

Another tough one here, I have so many. The File-Mignon is definitely one of my absolute favourites, it almost melts in your mouth.
The Dulce De Leche Coulant has to be my favourite dessert... just try it, I'll say no more.
I'm a huge lover of wine and anyone who appreciates wine will understand how incredible our wine list is. I recently tried (and fell in-love) with the Zuccardi, Cabernet Franc from the Uco Valley, Mendoza region of Argentina.

Some great choices there without a doubt. We hope you get to meet Jordana soon on your next visit to Fazenda Manchester. You can read more from our Manchester Team here and here, Fazendeiro!
