Continuing on with our Meet the Team series, we spoke to another one of our Relationships & Events Managers (REMs).
This week we sat down with Elisha, our REM at Fazenda Manchester, for a chat over some coffee. We had some questions to ask her so you can get to know her better, Fazendeiros.
Here's What Elisha Had to Say
What led you to become a Relationships & Events Manager?
I had never heard of these sorts of roles within hospitality; it was only when I joined Fazenda I realised there were so many other roles behind a restaurant. Initially I joined as a waitress nearly 5 years ago and during my time with the company I've learned a few different roles within different departments. After studying Psychology at university, I realised that I was more of a people person and loved interacting with others. I also realised my passion for food was something that I wanted to build into my career. It was over this time the REM role sparked my interest and I started to learn and understand more around the marketing aspect of hospitality.
She's been such a committed member of our team ever since she started with us all those years ago, Fazendeiros, and we're lucky to have her as part of our Marketing Team.
What’s the most interesting part of your role?
My role is so diverse which means no day is ever the same, and that’s exciting. If I had to choose, the most interesting part would be hosting tables at Fazenda. It’s fascinating how much you can learn about someone you’ve never met before over a great meal.
This is something we're passionate about, Fazendeiros. We love learning more about you and how we can make your Fazenda experience even better for you.
What personal qualities has your role helped you to develop?
Initially the idea of hosting tables and networking was really daunting, but this role has built my confidence. It has also improved my time management skills, as there's so many different things happening at the same time; I’ve had to learn to prioritise my time more efficiently.
We can vouch for this, there are so many things happening at the same time we've all had to learn how to prioritise and take the right amount of time for things!
What are some of your hobbies outside of work?
My passion for food means I love to cook and try out the latest foodie places around the city. I also enjoy reading and keeping fit in the gym.
A passion for food is surely perfect for a role at Fazenda!
Where would you like to travel to the most?
I’d love to explore the Caribbean more! I think it's such an interesting place with a rich and authentic culture.
It's on the list!
If you're visiting Fazenda Manchester and see Elisha, don't hesitate to say hello, Fazendeiros - she's always open for some conversation!
