On this week's blog, we continue our 'Meet the Team' series.
You loved hearing about our Edinburgh REM Amy Browne last time, and this time we want to introduce you to another fantastic member of our team.
This week, we travel to another Fazenda site. Fazenda Leeds is the first location we ever opened, all the way back in 2010. It has been thriving ever since, thanks to our amazing team and all the support from you, Fazendeiros.
Charlie Zwager is an assistant manager at Fazenda Leeds, and has more than 10 years of experience in the hospitality industry.
When we asked all our team members who would like to do a small interview for our blog, Charlie jumped at the opportunity.
-Describe yourself in 5 words.
I'd say the five words that perfectly describe me are fun, energetic, logical, smiley and comical.
-What attracted you to work at Fazenda?
I saw Fazenda as somewhere I would genuinely see myself being very proud to be a part of with my role here. I love the unique rodizio style of dining that we provide, which is truly very special and exciting. The company prides itself on quality in every aspect of what we do, and I love the family ethos behind every team.
-What is your academic background?
I moved to Leeds in 2009 to start a degree at Leeds University studying Sociology. Unfortunately, I decided after 2 years that university wasn’t really for me and chose to put a full-time focus on my job in hospitality, of which I now have over 10 years of experience.
-What are your hobbies?
Generally, I spend my free time with friends. I think it is important to have a strong network of people to support you in life through its ups and downs. I enjoy social drinking, and have a particular penchant for traditional cider, red wine and tequila. I've got quite an excessive film collection that has grown over the years, and a wide knowledge of all things trivia. In my spare time, I really enjoy cooking and swimming.
We're now challenging Charlie to a Trivia challenge, which should be fun!
-If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would you go and why?
That is a tough choice! I would probably pick Mexico. Beautiful beaches, amazing culture, and the home of tequila! It is somewhere I have always wanted to go but never had the chance. It should hopefully be on the cards though in the next few years!
It's such a pleasure for us to share a bit more of us, so you get to know us - the humans behind the Fazenda Experience you enjoy when you visit us.
Do you have any questions you'd like to ask Charlie? Leave a comment below or visit our social channels on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram if you do; she'd love to hear from you, Fazendeiros.
