Fazenda and Northern Ballet

 

We are delighted to be working with Leeds-based Northern Ballet in connection with their brand new production: Casanova. 

As character sponsors of the man himself, Giacomo Casanova, we are pleased to be supporting their luxurious new production as it heads off on its nationwide tour, which includes two of our home cities – Leeds and Manchester, and a future one, Edinburgh.

Casanova lived every minute in a whirlwind of scandal and excess, but there’s more to the man. Northern Ballet’s original production will expose his sensational story in a spine-tingling spectacle of 18th century decadence.

You might not know that Casanova was a connoisseur of fine food and drink, so we think he’s a perfect match for Fazenda’s sumptuous traditions and heritage.

Road Closure – Water Lane

From today 2nd February there will be some road closures near Fazenda Leeds for 13 weeks as some works are carried out in the Bridgewater area.

Reveillon – New Year’s Eve

Brazil is filled with a fantastic party atmosphere during New Year’s Eve for the Festas de Reveillon. Chimichurri

Recipes for certain types of food, including Yorkshire puddings, gravy and, at Fazenda, chimichurri, are treasured by people, families and restaurants. It might be a bit of a mouthful to pronounce (even for native Spanish speakers – try chee-mee-choo-ree), but it is the perfect accompaniment for grilled meats, sausages and beef. read more

Capirinha is synonym of Brazil, there’s no doubt about that.

Made with cachaça (ka-SHAAH-suh) it’s Brazi’s national cocktail. Cachaça is the nation’s spirit, a cousin of rum and is made from 100% fresh cane juice (unlike rum, which is made from molasses). read more

This small and colourful fruit (Passiflora edulis, Maracujá in Portuguese) is native to Brazil, Paraguay and the north of Argentina. At Fazenda we’re proud to follow our roots and include it in many of our recipes. It’s flavour is tangy, with a hint of sweetness too. read more
